Crate Details

Crate *Purchasing crates pending availability in each port (Purchasing crates are very limited in regional ports). If you are using your own crate, it must be an IATA Airline Approved Crate with a water bowl attached to the front door. If it is not airline approved, you will be charged an additional fee for a new Airline Approved Crate.

Pets aged between 8-12 weeks - Virgin Only (Qantas do not fly pets 12 weeks and under) and over 12yrs of age, will require a Fit to Fly Certificate issued by their regular vet within 10 days - Virgin or 7 days - Qantas of flying stating age, date of birth and that the animal is fit to fly.

If your pet is a Brachycephalic Breed (Snubbed nose eg. French Bulldog, Pug, Shih Tzu, Boxer, etc), or Crossed with a Brachycephalic Breed, it is a requirement that a BOAS Fit to Fly Certificate be completed by your vet and dated within 7 days of flying. This form will be provided in your itinerary.
Brachycephalic Breeds MUST BE aged over 12 weeks to fly.

IATA Airline Approved Crates MUST BE USED and include a water bowl attached to the door.
Crates must contain the following as a minimum to be Airline Approved:
      * Plastic Hardcase Crate or Wooden Container/Crate (Not a collapsible or "soft" crate),
      * If Plastic Crate, there must be a minimum of four metal screws holding the crate together. If there are no metal screws and your crate uses plastic clips your crate will be rejected and you will risk your pet missing their flight,
      * A water container or bowl attached to the front door,
      * No cracks or breakages on/in the crate,
      * Air vents in the crate,
      * Metal cage front door.
